Summer course 2021 – Lodz

We are very excited to announce that the Summer Course 2021 will be held in Lodz!

The European Training Consortium in Public Health and Health Promotion (ETC-PHHP) invites you all interested in public health and health promotion for the 29th ETC-Summer Course titled Salutogenesis for community health and wellbeing from 14th – 28th  of July 2021 in Lodz, Poland organized by the Medical University of Lodz.

The ETC Summer Course in 2021 will provide a high level training focused on a salutogenic approach for building and strengthening health and wellbeing in communities. Lodz, as one of the biggest cities in Poland, is a perfect place to show how health promotion activities and strategies have been implemented during the past decades and the pandemic crisis in the east part of Europe.

The course is organized in two online modules:
Module 1 (14th to 20th of July 2021): Pre-recorded videos and papers
Module 2 (21th to 28th of July 2021): Online interactive sessions
*The Concha Colomer Symposium is a mandatory part of the Summerschool

This year’s course will be taught in an online space where participants and tutors will explore: salutogenesis as a framework to understand how to improve the quality of life for community health and wellbeing; meaningful resources in and by communities; participatory approaches to strengthen communities’ health and wellbeing.

We welcome participants from different fields of health promotion, public health, local government, NGO and health care professionals, including people from sectors such as urban planning, academia, social work, research, management, practice and policy.

The course fee is 200€ and 75€ for low and middle-income countries (early registration until the 7th of May) and 220€ and 85€ (regular registration – 8th May to 7th of June). The fee includes the participation in the 9th Concha Colomer Symposium.

This course carries CPD certification worth 5 ECTS

How do I register to participate in the course?
Please complete and submit the registration form by clicking on this link.

How do I make the fee payment?
Please complete the registration form with the necessary information for us to prepare for your invoice. The invoice will be prepared by The Financial Department of Medical University of Lodz. The account numbers will be sent to participants with the invoice.

The fee could be paid in euro or PLN.

Can you explain more about how the modules will be organized online?
This year’s course will be delivered in an online space. The ETC-Summer Course will be organized in 2 Modules:

  1. Module 1 (14th to 20th of July 2021): Pre-recorded videos and papers will be sent to participants before this Module. The materials should be studied in order to prepare for the interactive sessions during Module 2.
  2. Module 2 (21st to 28th of July 2021): Participants and tutors will participate in the online interactive workshop sessions. All group work will be facilitated by 2 international tutors.

What can I expect from The Concha Colomer Symposium?
Participatory approaches for strengthening communities to enhance community health and wellbeing will be explored collaboratively during the online Concha Colomer Symposium. The fee includes participation in the 9th Concha Colomer Symposium.

Will I receive any acknowledgement letter or course certificate for completing the course?
Every participant will receive a certificate confirming participation in the ETC-Summer Course and also The Concha Colomer Symposium. This carries a combined CPD certification worth 5 ECTS (The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System)
